The Art Department at Adair County High School invites you to join them 9am-4amCT Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at the Adair County Public Library, 307 Greensburg Street, for a "Taste of the Arts."
Ceramic art students in Ms. Debra Wimmer's class are pairing up with local bakers to showcase the work of both culinary and ceramic artists. Ceramics' students have designed and created truly unique and fascinating cake plates, inspired by the name of the cake.
Members of The Garden Club, Homemakers and other locally known culinary experts are putting their talents to work by baking the cake that goes with each cake stand. Cakes include Apple Cake, Angel Food Cake, Holy Cow Cake, German Chocolate Cake, Black Forest Cake, Topsy Turvy Cake, Coffee Cake, Strawberry in the Snow, Pineapple Upside Down Cake, Banana Cake, Turtle Cake, Pound Cake, Anniversary Cake, Groom's Cake, Tiramisu, Cheese Cake, Marble Cake, Tie Dye Cake, Day of the Dead Dessert, Hummingbird Cake, Nut Cake and Easter Cupcakes.
The public is invited to come experience what can only be called a confectioner's and artist's delight. The cakes will be for sale by the slice or whole cake. All proceeds will go to the visual arts department at ACHS. For more information, please contact Debra Wimmer at (270) 384-2751. -Ellen Zornes
