Marion (Short) Fudge, Adair Co., KY (1927-2011)

He was the head of a highly regarded South Adair Co., KY, family. He was deeply respected for his strength of character and his quiet, kind manner. He was a member of Red Lick Baptist Church and attended Chestnut Grove Christian Church. He was US Army veteran of World War II, a board member and firefighter with the Breeding Fire Department, and trustee for the Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Barnes Cemetery and Rowetown Cemetery

Marion "Short" Fudge age 83 years of the Sparksville/Breeding Community of Adair County, KY passed away Monday, May 9, 2011 at the Grandview Nursing and Rehab Center in Campbellsville, KY after several months illness.

The funeral service will be Friday, May 13, 2011 at 11amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Bob Priest the officiating clergy. Interment in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery, 54 Chestnut Grove RD, Breeding, KY, with funeral honors by the Breeding Fire Department. The family request visiting after 3pmCT on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at at the funeral home.



Marion (Short) Fudge, Adair Co., KY (1927-2011)

He was born Saturday, September 15, 1927. He was the son of the late Finis A. and Sarah Martha Barnes Fudge of Adair Co., KY. He died Monday, May 9, 2011, in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY, at the age of 83 years, 7 months, and 24 days.Mr. Fudge was preceded in death by his wife Arminda Belle Hagan Fudge on June 4, 1997 and by two brothers, Henry Fudge and Gilbert Fudge.

He is survived by the following:
  • Four sons: Glenn Nolan Fudge of Evansville, IN; Ronnie Fudge and wife Linda of Bloomfield, KY; Larry Fudge and wife Gayle of Columbia, KY; Garry Fudge and wife Ginger of Glasgow, KY

  • Three daughters: Wilma McDonough and husband John of Faribault, MN; Kathy McClister of Columbia, KY; Jennifer Carter and husband John of Columbia, KY

  • Eight grandchildren: Chris Fudge, Melena Lacy, Tammy Fudge, Tommy Fudge, Sarah, Sally and John McDonough, Tyler Carter

  • Five great grandchildren Michael, Kirsten and Hailey Fudge, Katlyn and Jakeb Lacy.
Mr. Fudge was a member of Red Lick Baptist Church and attended Chestnut Grove Christian Church. He was US Army veteran of World War II, a board member and firefighter with the Breeding Fire Department, trustee for the Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Barnes Cemetery and Rowetown Cemetery.
