Ruby Williams Branstetter, Edmonton, KY (d. May 2, 2011)

She was a member of a highly regarded Metcalfe Co., KY family. She was a member of the South Edmonton Church of Christ. She was an employee of the Metcalfe County School Board and was an employee of Edmonton Farm Center.

Ruby Williams Branstetter age 90 of Edmonton, KY passed away May 2, 2011, at NHC HealthCare in Glasgow, KY after an extended illness.

Funeral services were held 11amCT, Thursday, May 5, 2011, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East ST, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Summer Shade Cemetery.



She was a Monroe County, KY native and graduated from Tompkinsville High School in 1939. After graduation she worked as the Postmaster in Vernon, KY.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Hartzell Branstetter of Edmonton, KY, and the following:
  • One daughter: Frances (Barry) Edwards of Glasgow, KY, and one son, Fowler (Katie) Branstetter of Edmonton, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Stacy (Greg) Smith of Glasgow. KY; Emily (Kevin) Hartmann of Mulberry Grove, IL' Andrea Branstetter of Lexington, KY; Kevin Branstetter of Cary, NC

  • Four great grandchildren: Barrett Smith, Lauren Robison, Braden and Connor Hartmann
Ruby Branstetter served as a member of the South Edmonton Church of Christ, Edmonton, KYShe spent several years as an employee of the Metcalfe County Board of Education and as an employee of Edmonton Farm Center, Inc.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Joseph and Maide Williams of Vernon, KY. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Hubert Williams, and six sisters, Verda Stephens, Beulah Anderson, Dorothy Scott, Pauline Stephens, Christine Branstetter, and Claudine Lindsey; and one daughter in law, Joan Gibson Branstetter.Butler Funeral Home, 201 East ST, Edmonton, KY in charge of arrangements.
