Timothy Ray Pierce, Green Co., KY (1962-2011)

He was a native of Taylor Co., KY, and was a member of a large, respected family with relatives in Adair and Green Counties of Kentucky. He was a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.

Mr. Timothy Ray Pierce of Greensburg, KY, son of Garvis Pierce of Greensburg and the late Dorothy Mae Jeffries Pierce, was born on February 10, 1962 in Taylor Co., Ky and departed this life on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 in Green County. He was 49 years, two months and 24 days of age.

The funeral services for Mr. Timothy Ray Pierce will be conducted at 1pmCT, Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY with burial to follow in the Warf Cemetery. Bro. Landon Hadley will be officiating. Visitation is requested from 4pm-9pmCT, Friday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Saturday until time of the funeral service.


Pallbearers: Greg Pierce, Matt Pierce, Robbie Young, Donnie Young, John Melson, Scott Sallee, and David Allen McKinney.

Mr. Timothy Ray Pierce of Greensburg, KY was the son of Garvis Pierce of Greensburg and the late Dorothy Mae Jeffries Pierce. He was born on Thursday, February 10, 1962 in Taylor Co., Ky and departed this life on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 in Green Co., KY. He was 49 years, two months and 24 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.

He united in marriage to Peggy Sue Creason on July 3, 1982 who survives.

Other survivors include, the following:
  • A daughter and son: Amanda Sue Pierce of Columbia, KY; and Jesse Ray Pierce of Greensburg, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Alex Arnett of Summersville, KY, and Jaden Pierce of Columbia, KY

  • Two sisters and a brother: Doris Dean Simpson, Donald Pierce, and Diane Sallee all of Greensburg, KY

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Mr. Pierce was also preceded in death by a granddaughter: Katelyn Hamblin; and a brother: Roger Pierce.The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the family burial fund to help with burial expenses, which can be made at the funeral home.

The Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY in charge of arrangements.
