Dorothy Brown of Hustonville, KY passed away Wednesday May 4, 2011 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. She was 89.

Funeral services are 2pmET/1pmCT, Friday May 6, 2011 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Jimmy Brown officiating. Burial is at Shady Grove Cemetery.Visitation is Thursday, May 5, 2011, 6pm-9pmET/5pm-8pmCT, at the funeral home.



Dorothy Brown, Hustonville, KY (1922-2011)

Born in Casey County, KY on Saturday, January 7, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Leathie Edwards Vaught. She died May 4, 2011, in Danville, Boyle Co., KY, at the age of 89 years, 3 months, and 27 days.

She is retired from Palm Beach Manufacturing and member of the Brush Creek Christian Church . She is the widow of James Wilbur Brown.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two sons: J. C. Brown of Liberty, KY; and Phillip Brown of Hustonville, KY

  • Daughter: Deborah Kay Brown Woodall of Danville, KY

  • Three step-daughters: Wanda Faye Terry of Liberty, KY; Dixie Rae Wilcher of Cincinnati, OH and Edwinna Mae Rodgers of Liberty, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Shawna Sharp, Stevie Rogers , Tracy Heisler and Leslie Owens

  • Three great-grandchildren: Logan Sears, Hayden Heisler and Savanna Sharp

  • And two brothers: Eugene and Icie Lee Vaught, both of Liberty, KY
In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy is preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Gay Brown; one son, Leon Roy Brown; eight brothers, Herman, Arvin, Elvin, B.D., John Earl, Melvin Roy, Vallas , and Sam Vaught Jr. and two sisters, Alma Monday and Irene Bryant.

McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY in charge of arrangements.
