Annette Graves Newby, Adair Co., KY (1938-2011)

Ann Newby was a member of a large, highly regarded Adair Co., KY family and of the Second Christian Church. She a retired farmer and housewife. She was active in various community activities, she was a long time employee of the Adair County Senior Citizens Center and at the time of her death a well loved greeter at Walmart in Columbia, KY

Annette "Ann" Graves Newby, 72, of the Milltown Community of Adair County, KYpassed away Friday, April 29, 2011 at 6:35pmET, at the Kindred Hospital in Louisville, KY after several months illness.

Funeral service will be Friday, May 6, 2011 at 1pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Kenny Carter the officiating clergy.Interment in the New Zion Cemetery at Fairplay, KY. The family request visiting after 6pmCT on Thursday, May 5, 2011, at the funeral home.


Annette Graves Newby, Adair Co., KY (1938-2011)

She was born Thursday, October 20, 1938 in Milltown, Adair Co., KY. She was the daughter of the late Walter Ray "Jet" & Dimple Johnston Graves of Adair County, KY. She died Friday, April 29, 2011, in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY, at the age of 72 years, 6 months, and 9 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband Perry Newby in 1998.

She was preceded in death by three sons Perry Lee Newby in 1990 and by two infant sons.

She was preceded in death by brothers: Herbert Graves, L.E. Graves, Bobby Graves and a sister Clara Graves.

Survivors include the following:
  • Three brothers: Ben Graves of Boston, MA; Mike Graves of Columbia, KY, and Foster Graves of Columbia, KY

  • Two sisters: Nina Cheatham of Campbellsville, KY; and Mary Graves of Boston, MA

  • A special niece: Dana Rankin of Louisville, KY

  • And a host of other nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
