Big Rig Trucker: Big Al visits USS Texas in Houston Click on headline for story plus photo(s) Big Al Owens, the Big Rig Trucker The USS Texas was an American battleship which is anchored in the port of Houston. The ship is located across from the San Jacinto Monument, which honors the rich tradition of the Texas Independence movement. I toured the ship and was fascinated by its great history. This ship actually served in both World Wars. I was too scared of heights to go up too high on some of the lookout perches. I did see the Captains quarters though.Smile. -Big Al This story was posted on 2011-04-27 05:40:39
