The March 2011 edition of Site Selection magazine has ranked Campbellsville among the 2010 Top Micropolitan areas with three qualifying existing business projects. Out of 576 Micropolitan communities in the United States, Campbellsville tied for 41st place.

"This ranking is evidence of our area's long term progress, even through tough economic times," said Ron McMahan, executive director of Team Taylor County. "Site Selection magazine is the economic development trade journal for economic developers, site selection brokers, and relocating companies go to for relocation information. We are extremely pleased to make the listing."

Kentucky also made the magazine's annual Top States with the top Micros, ranking second with 12 micros, behind Louisiana with 14.

The U.S. Census Bureau defines a Micropolitan statistical area as an urban core of at least 10,000 but less than 50,000 population.
