Birthday: They danced on Petty's Fork bridge all night *Sur le pont, de Pettit's Fork, L'on y danse tous en rond Linda Vincent Jessee, now a resident of Metcalfe County, was born in 1945 on what is now the Tommy and Marsha Grider Estate. Her father, the late Fred Vincent, who carried the mail between Columbia, KY and Celina, TN, always told about the Sunday she was born. There were Saturday night revelers on the bridge who danced throughout the night, maybe just a coincidence - but maybe in celebration of the birth of the little girl who would spend most of her childhood in the Christine area of Adair County. *At d'Avignon, they actually danced under the bridge. At Petty's Fork, then Pettit's Fork on all the maps, they danced on the top of the floor of the bridge. But certainly, by all accounts, a good time was had by all.
