Donnie Hayse Spears, 68, of Burkesville, KY, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville, KY.

Funeral services on Thursday, April 14, 2011, at 1pmCT at Ballou and Stotts Funeral Home, 304 North Main ST, Burkesville, KY. Burial will be in the Christian Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5pm-9pmCT, on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, Inc. in Burkesville, KY.


Donnie Hayse Spears, Cumberland Co., KY (1943-2011)

Donnie Hayse Spears was born in Burkesville, Cumberland Co., KY on Monday, February 22, 1943. He was the son of Amy Sharp Spears, and the late Haze Spears. He died Sunday, April 10, 2011, in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY, at the age of 68 years, 1 month, and 19 days.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and was retired from Klosterman Baking Company in Louisville, KY.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, Carl Spears; Stevie Spears.

Survivors include the folllowing:
  • His mother: Amy Spears of Burkesville, KY

  • Two daughters: Robin Spurgeon of Jeffersonville, IN; and Tami McMahan of Louisville, KY

  • One brother: Larry Spears of Burkesville, KY

  • Two sisters: Betty June Conrad of Edmonton, KY; and Martha Ann Keen of Burkesville, KY
Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, Inc., 304 North Main ST, Burkesville, KY in charge of arrangements.
