Paul M. Furkin age 76 years of the Sparksville Fairplay Road Columbia, KY passed Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 3:51pmCT at his home.

Funeral service will be Sunday, April 3, 2011at 1:30pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro Jessie Hagan the officiating clergy. Interment in Furkin Cemetery, 1279 Sparksville RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation is after 9amCT, Sunday, April 3, 2011, at the funeral home.

He was born on April 22, 1934 in Adair Co., KY. He was the son of the late Rev. Frank Dallas and Minnie Marshall Furkin. He died Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 3:51pmCT at his home, in Columbia, Adair Co., KY, at the age of 76 years, 11 months, and 9 days.He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal Knight Furkin, on June 8, 1986. He was also preceded in death by one daughter Paula Kolody, on October 26, 1995; a great granddaughter Le'Lease Nicole Kolody, on September 15, 2005; and one sister Christine AkinHe is survived by the following:
  • One son: Billy Furkin of Columbia, KY

  • Two daughters: Diane Furkin and her companion Ricky Lawson of Dunnville, KY; and Wendy Bernard and husband Stephen of Liberty, KY

  • One sister: Iva Furkin Sharp and husband Chuck of Columbia, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Robin Absher, Stephen Furkin, Tossha Royston, Lenesa Kolody and Bradle Heishman

  • Four great grandsons

  • and a host of other relatives and friends.
