He was a member of a large, respected South Adair Co., KY, family.

William Henry Franklin, 71, of The Flatwoods community of Adair Co., KY,, died Thursday, March 31, 2011 at 12:35pmCT. at his daughter's residence in Taylor Co., KY, after an illness.

The funeral service will be Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 12pm noon CT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Gene Conover officiating. Burial in Tarter's Chapel, 3400 Milltown RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Friday, April 1, 2011, at the funeral home.



William Henry Franklin, Adair Co., KY (1939-2011)

He was born Wednesday, April 28, 1939, in Adair Co., KY. He was the son of the late Joe Willie and Sally Rogers Franklin. He died Thursday, March 31, 2011, in Taylor Co., KY, at the age of 71 years, 11 months, and 2 days.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Turner Franklin, one son, Johnny William Franklin and one brother, Jim I.C. Franklin.

Survivors include the following:
  • Two sons: Phillip Franklin, Mark and his wife Melissa Franklin all of Columbia, KY

  • Four daughters: Darlene and her husband Phillip Campbell of Columbia, KY; Ann and her husband Jack Bond of Campbellsville, KY: Julie Franklin of Campbellsville, KY; and Connie and her husband Donnie Hensley of Columbia, KY

  • Two brothers: Woodrow Franklin of Russell Springs, KY; and Davis Franklin of Columbia, KY

  • Two sisters: Viola Jessie and Dolly Bragg, both of Columbia, KY

  • Fourteen grandchildren

  • Five great-grandchildren
