Recurrent events for April & May, 2011, updated

Recurrent events have been posted and updated for April and May, 2011. If your organization's events are not in ColumbiaMagazine.com Events, please send as soon as possible to get the the greatest impact for your event.

This is a very busy season of the year, especially with Easter, Graduations, and the May 17, 2011, election.


Thanks to everyone for the wonderful response we've gotten to appeals to submit Events in our format. We especially appreciate the help of the members of the Adair County Ministerial Association, public officials, and schools and institutions. And of course, we appreciate those public minded advertisers and supporters without whom ColumbiaMagazine.com could not be possible.
We're including a few notes below for those who may not be familiar with our process for handling news items:Please include the answers to the 5W's and an H, as in this checklist:
  • Who? Who was involved?
  • What? What is happening (what is the story)?
  • When? When does it take place?
  • Where? Where is the venue: Name of location, Street Number, Street, City, State.
  • Why? Why will it happen? What is the purpose?
  • How? How does it happen? For this, tell whether it is a public event or for members only, whether it is free or there is an admission
For fastest posting, submit news in full sentence, paragraph form, using ColumbiaMagazine.com format and sequence:
  • Date Example: February 26, 2010
  • Time Example: 6pmCT or 7pmET/6pmCT
  • Address Example: First Church, 777 Elm AV, Columbia, KY
  • Phone Number: (270) 380-2222
A completed submission might read:
Glory singers at First Church, Sun., Feb. 28, 2010

Events submissions submitted as flyers are considered ads. Events submissions submitted in formats other than those submitted in full sentence, paragraph form, using ColumbiaMagazine.com format and sequence, may be considered advertising.For quickest posts, please send all information in one email and include contact information. If additional information is asked for, please include in one new email with all information. Please send in caps and lower case. All caps submissions may be returned.Please remember that while ColumbiaMagazine.com offers the most comprehensive announcement package, free, of any media, events may be posted only if the venue includes Street No. and Street Name. Directions are not posted. If there is a charge you may be notified that the event is advertising. And, If it is advertising on any media, it is considered advertising on ColumbiaMagazine.
