One room schools: Sanders Ridge, Adair Co., KY Click on headline for story plus photo(s) By Kenny Browning, the Feedman Located on Sanders Ridge Road in Northern Adair County, Kentucky, west of Pellyton, KY. This is another school which I had passed several times and didn't see. One side of it has all the windows and the other side has only one. Of course the side with the windows has the trees hiding them in the summer. I was told by a guy who lives close by that it had been moved across the road years ago from its original location. He couldn't give the exact date of its closing, but guessed it being in the late 1950s. The best part of this one was the intact cloakroom in the back of the school. I've found very few that had a separate cloakroom, much less one in fairly good shape. I also stumbled across a YouTube video " which works well with this photo.
