Tami Wilson hails community centered entertainment

Tami Wilson writes:
Glad to see signs of revitalized life on the square. When I was growing up, that's where everything was. I used to go to the soda fountain at Lowe's, and either of the pool rooms for a plate lunch special, or some insanely good, unique burgers. Of course, there was the Circle R and Jim Dandy, if you wanted less of an urban ambiance for a bite.

After mega-corporations migrated into the area, all of that was gone. Glad to see that there is a trend toward community-centered entertainment and gatherings. It's a good thing. For any who are interested in community-based, grass-roots entertainment, you might be interested in tuning in, or attending (in Lexington) Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour, or Red Barn Radio. They both offer very affordable entertainment, and share a philosophy of community-centered entertainment. Most of all, I hope Columbia's own community-centered venues continue to grow.

I know that I cannot send links on on your email form, but you can easily find Woodsongs and Red Barn Radio by Googling, and you can listen to archived shows/performances of them both.

Best,s/Tami Wilson
