Mrs. Patricia Ann "Patty" Willis Groce, age 44, of The Hegira Community in Burkesville, KY, passed away on Sunday March 27, 2011 at The University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday March 31, 2011 at 1pmCT in The Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N. Main ST, Burkesville, KY, with burial in the Perkins Cemetery. Visitation is after 12pm noon CT, on Wednesday March 30, 2011, until the funeral hour, Thursday.



Patty Willis Groce, Cumberland Co., KY (1966-2011)

She was born in Tuscola, Douglas Co. IL, on Sunday, November 13, 1966 the daughter of James Franklin "Jimmy" Willis and Artha Bell Long Willis. She died Sunday, March 27, 2011, in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY, at the age of 44 years, 4 months, and 14 days.

She was a Member of The Rose of Sharon United Methodist Church, a 1985 graduate of Cumberland County High School, and was employed at The Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park.

In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her brother, Clyde Willis; her grandparents, Ray and Pansy Thacker Long, Lloyd and Maymie White Willis; mother in law and father in law, Earl and Pauline Flowers Groce, brother in law, Jerry Groce, and many other beloved family members.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Kyle Groce, whom she married July 11, 1998, of Burkesville, KY, and the following:
  • Her daughters: Tiffany Burns Spears (and Brandon) of Smiths Grove, KY, and Kristen LeighAnn Groce of Burkesville, KY

  • Her mother: Bell Willis (and Daniel) Holland

  • Her siblings: David (and Sonja) Willis, Henry (and Faye) Willis, Janet (and Egar) Sanchez all of Burkesville, KY

  • Grandchildren: J.P. Burns, Keleigh Spears, Hayden Spears and Remington White

  • A host of aunts, uncles, cousins
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate contributions to the Patty Groce Memorial Fund, which may be left at the funeral home.
