He was a member of a large, respected family with strong family ties in Adair and Russell Counties of Kentucky. He was a school teacher and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Burial will be in Adair Co., KY

Robert Michael Kimbler, 62, Bowling Green, KY, formerly of Russell Co., KY, died Sunday, March 27, 2011, at the Hospice Center of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, KY.

A memorial service will be Thursday, March 31, 2011, at 1pmCT, at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, KY, with Rev. Tommy Brown the officiating clergy. Burial will be in the Freedom Cemetery, Adair Co., KY. Friends may call at the funeral home after 12pm noon CT, Thursday, March 31, 2011.

Robert Michael Kimbler was born Wednesday, July 28, 1948, in Selma, Dallas Co., AL. He was the son of the late Edna Alley Kimbler and Archie Kimbler. He died Sunday, March 27, 2011, in Bowling Green, Warren Co., KY, at the age of 62 years, 7 months, and 27 days.

He is survived by his wife, Janis Kimbler, Bowling Green, KY, and the following:
  • Eight children: Deborah (Paul) Hentnick, Bowling Green, KY; Amy (Stacy) Kidd, Concord, VA; Darrin Jenkins, Jackson, TN; Rebecca Miller, Panama City Beach, FL; Tina Nelson, Bowling Green, KY; Nicole Miller, Bowling Green, KY; Matthew Warrick, Bowling Green, KY; and John Kimbler, Louisiana

  • One brother: Roger Kimbler, Columbia, KY

  • Two sisters: Brenda Jasper, Russell Springs, KY; and Sandy Burris, Danville, KY

  • Fourteen grandchildren and three great grandchild
He was a school teacher and a veteran of the US Air Force.

Bernard Funeral Home, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, KY, in charge of arrangements.
