Post 15, State Marshal investigating Monroe fatal fire Monroe Fire Department finds resident dead in front yard as a result of apparent injuries from fire. State Fire Marshall Charles Sparks is assisting KSP Arson Investigator in followup. No foul play suspected at this time By TFC Billy Gregory, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY TOMPKINSVILLE, KY - The Kentucky State Police are investigating a fire at 4033 Sand Lick RD in Tompkinsville, KY that resulted in the death of 54-year-old Gary S. Bowles. Monroe County dispatch notified Post 15 at 7:41amCT this morning, Friday, March 25, 2011, that the Monroe County Fire Department responded to a fire at the above address and upon arrival found Mr. Bowles deceased in the front yard with apparent injuries from the fire. Mr. Bowles lived at the residence alone. No foul play is expected and an autopsy is scheduled for Saturday. Charles Sparks with the State Fire Marshall's office is assisting in the investigation with KSP Arson Investigator Alex Wesley.
