The 144 students were honored at a banquet at the Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center for being named to the President's List or Dean's List. Students named to the President's List have a semester grade point average of 4.0 on a 4.0 scale; and students named to the Dean's List have a semester grade point average of 3.5 to 3.99 on a 4.0 scale. The keynote address was delivered by LWC alumnus Steven Tallent of Albany, KY. A 2007 LWC graduate, Tallent is in the third year of dental school at the University of Louisville. In his remarks, Tallent credited his LWC biology degree with helping him get accepted into the extremely competitive dental school. Tallent was one of 3,000 individuals who applied for 80 spots in his dental school class. "You can do anything you want with your Lindsey Wilson education - it's up to you," he said. Tallent, who is a 2003 graduate of Clinton County High School, encouraged students to get involved while they are enrolled at LWC. "While you are a student here, flip over every rock, get involved, take advantage of opportunities," he said. "Take everything you can with you when you leave this place. Then pass it on and help other people." This story was posted on 2011-03-25 05:45:40
