He was member of a large, respected Elk Horn, KY family, a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom and a member of the Pittman Valley Baptist Church.

Montie Ray Benningfield, 71, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 5:37pmCT, Wednesday, March 16, 2011 in Campbellsville, KY.

Funeral services were Sunday, March 20, 2011 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, by Bro. Danny Nelson, with burial in the Palestine Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Julius Agee, Jerry Forrest, Greg Nelson, Michael Newton, Orville Newton, and Timmy Sexton>

Montie Ray Benningfield, Taylor Co., KY (1939-2011)

Montie Ray Benningfield was the son of the late Malvin Benningfield and Willard Drury Benningfield. He was born in Taylor Co., KY, Saturday, October 28, 1939. He died Wednesday, March 16, 2011 in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY, at the age of 71 years, 4 months, and 16 days.

He had professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Pittman Valley Baptist Church.

He was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, KY.

He united in marriage to Lillie Mae Sluder February 14, 1959.

Besides his wife, Lillie Benningfield, he is survived by the following:
  • Two sons and one daughter: Anita Wilkerson and husband, Daryl of Horse Cave, KY; Lynn Benningfield and wife, Teresa of Campbellsville, KY; and Gary Benningfield and wife, Glenda of Louisville, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Paula Webb and husband, Chris, Chrystal Graham and husband, Bobby, Lindsay Wilkerson and Candi Craig and husband, Andy

  • Eleven great-grandchildren: Erica Harper, Emily Webb, Edy Webb, Brianna Wilkerson, Natalie Vincent, Hayden Wilkerson, Zoe Graham, Evan Graham, Kaylee Counsil, Zoe Counsil and Jeffrey Counsil

  • Two brothers and two sisters: Donald Benningfield, Lyndon Benningfield and wife, Naomi and Doris Jean Newton of Campbellsville, KY; and Janice Thompson of Elk Horn, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by one son and one daughter: Jerry Dale Benningfield in infancy July 8, 1968 and Patricia Gail Benningfield in infancy June 1, 1963 and one brother and one sister: Berlin Benningfield and Shirley Ann Thompson.

The family requests expressions of sympathy be donations to the funeral expenses and may be made at the funeral home.

The Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, in charge of arrangements.
