William Ronald (Ronnie) McFarland, Adair Co., KY (1943-2011)

He was a member of a highly regarded Adair County family. He had retired after a career as an accountant at the Corporate Offices of Fruit of the Loom and had been an employee of Rogers Trucking Co. in Columbia, KY. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, and will be accorded full military rites by Columbia VFW Post 6097

William Ronald "Ronnie" McFarland, 67, of Columbia, KY, died Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 1:26pmET, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at 2pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Rev. John Chowning and Rev. Steve Willis officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 102 Mt. Carmel Cemetery RD, Columbia, KY with full military honors presented by VFW Post 6097. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at the funeral home.

He was born Sunday, August 15, 1943, in Adair Co., KY. He was the son of the late William Garland and Margaret Sparks McFarland. He died Saturday, March 19, 2011 in Elizabethtown, Hardin Co., KY at the age of 67 years, 7 months, and 4 days.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was an accountant, and had retired from the Corporate office of Fruit of the Loom. He had also worked at Rogers Trucking in Columbia, KY.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Caffee McFarland of Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • His son and daughter-in-law: Jason and Melanie McFarland of Campbellsville, KY

  • His granddaughter: Chloe Ann McFarland of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two aunts: Marilyn Coffey of Montpelier, KY; and Imogene Murrell of Bradenton, FL
