Fatal accident at mile marker 54, LBN

(3:54pmCT, Friday, March 18, 2011) - Kentucky Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE) is working an accident at mile marker 54 on the Louie B. Nunn Parkway at this time. A spokesperson KSP Post 15, Columbia, KY, has confirmed a fatality. No other details were available from KSP at time of posting, but that work at the site of the accident may take another 2 hours.

Twenty vehicles at MM 54, LBN Parkway accident

Some 20 emergency response and responders' vehicles were stretched out along a one-third of a mile stretch the westbound lane of the Louie B. Nunn Parkway this afternoon, Friday, March 18, 2011. Lt. Joe Conn of KSP Post 15 Commercial Vehicle Enforcement was in charge of the operation, which included units from the Adair County Sheriff's office, the Breeding Area Fire Department, the Columbia/Adair County Fire Department, the Adair County Emergency Medical Service, the Adair County Search and Rescue Team, and others. Coroner Todd Akin was on the scene, as well. Details on the fatality crash won't be released until the next of kin are notified and the crash site is cleared, Lt. Conn said. The photo was taken at approximately 4:30pmCT.
