The "I wouldn't care to" thing has confused me for years. Bless his little heart, my husband Wayne loves to tell me that he "wouldn't care to take me to dinner." I have no idea whether or not he intends to feed me or what time of day this meal might happen.

Could someone please start an "Adaircountian English" as a second language class? I wouldn't care to attend. -Barbara Armitage
Thanks. A most timely, progressive idea.

Would you want the textbook to be completely in limericks? After all, Columbia/Adair County is the limerick capitol of Kentucky. And about your oh so subtle reference to the the question of the ages: Is dinner at lunch or supper? is far too divisive to breathe a word about.
I'm afraid a discussion on the subject would split the community apart worse than the Russell Will Case did in the late 1920s. There's still folks mad over that.

In the interest of community unity, we won't touch the DLS issue with a 10 foot fork. -EW
