Anna E. Harmon, 93, formerly of Columbia, died Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 11:15amCT at Metcalfe Health Care Center in Edmonton, KY.

Funeral services will be Sunday, March 6, 2011 at 1pmCT at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Lewis Burton officiating. Burial will be in Bearwallow Cemetery, 6080 Liberty RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Saturday.



Anna E. Harmon, Adair Co., KY (1918-2011)

She was born Friday, January 14, 1918 in Adair Co., KY. She was the daughter of the late Elijah Arnold and Effie Powell Denton. She died Thursday, March 3, 2011 in Edmonton, Metcalfe Co., KY, at the age of 93 years, 8 months, and 17 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Franz Harmon: one daughter, Effie Ellen Popplewell; three sons, Alva Ray, George Arnold and Frankie Harmon: three sisters, Mary Denton, Dorenda Hadley and Bertie Cox; two brothers, Dewey and Arnold Denton; one grandson, Jon Curtis Sneed and two granddaughters, DJ Palmer and Judy Streeval.

Survivors include the following:
  • One son: William D. Harmon of Indianapolis, IN

  • Three daughters: Mildred Harmon Sneed and Doris Streeval both of Columbia, Marge Lengle of Lakeland, Florida

  • One sister: Hattie Burton of Edinburgh, IN

  • Two brothers: Willie Denton of Edinburgh, IN, Alvin Denton of Columbia, KY

  • Sixteen grandchildren

  • Several great and great-great grandchildren
