Adair Co., Bonner program forge recycling partnership

By Duane Bonifer
News from Lindsey Wilson College

A Lindsey Wilson College student hopes her efforts will raise recycling awareness among the campus community and also lead to a cleaner environment.

Aarin Kulig, an LWC freshman from Bardstown, KY, helped forge a partnership between the Lindsey Wilson Bonner Leader Program, the LWC residence life office and Adair County government that resulted in 25 recycling containers delivered on Wednesday to the college's A.P. White Campus. LWC students and staff assisted Adair County employees with distributing the containers around campus.

The 34-gallon, blue, plastic containers were donated by the Adair County government thanks to a grant. Another 15 containers could be on the way, according to Adair County government administrative assistant Lisa Lee.

Kulig, who is a Bonner Leader at LWC, said she got the idea to add more recycling containers to the campus shortly after arriving on campus last August.

"I've always been really interested in recycling, ever since I was younger," Kulig said. "Recycling is such a big part of the environment and conserving it."
