National Weather Service issues Severe Weather Statement

The National Weather Service in Louisville, KY, has issued a severe weather statement at 6:21amCT, Monday, February 28, 2011 for the following areas: Lincoln, Casey, Adair and Russell Counties of South Central Kentucky.

The statement also said, "A tornado warning remains in effect until 7:30amET/6:30amCT for northeastern Russell, eastern Adair, southern Casey, and southern Lincoln, Counties, KY.

"At 7:19amET/6:19amCT, weather service Doppler Radar continued to indicate a severe Thunderstorm with strong rotation. This tornado was located near Argyle (MAP), moving east at 55 mph.

"The tornado will otherwise impact mainly rural aras of eastern Adair County, northeastern Rusell, southern Casey, and soutern Lincoln Counties."To report damaging winds, large hail, or flooding to the National Weather Service, call toll free 1-877-633-6772, when you can do so safely.
