Seeing Anne Frank house made him appreciate America more

Wally Burress writes:
For anyone who hasn't read this (The Diary of Anne Frank), it's a great book. The optimism this young girl had while living in such trying times was amazing! It's sad that she lost her life when she was so close to freedom. I saw the Frank house in Amsterdam, Holland during my first tour in Europe while in the army. Seeing things like the Frank house and getting pieces of the Berlin Wall on my second tour in 1989 made me realize more than ever how very lucky we are to be Americans!! Wally Burress
