Luke Maupin, Ryan Montgomery, Jake Leibeck, Aaron Bradshaw, McKenzie Martin, Eddie Franklin, Jr., Kyle Mann, Audra Turner, Ashley Neat, Nathaniel Johnson, Heather Jackson, Roslin Wilson, Emmalee Baker, Alison Feese, Abby Walker, Kyle Castaneda, Matt Rogers, and Sydney Bright Special ColumbiaMagazine.com story Adair County High School Academic Team captured the 2011 Governor's Cup 4th Region Championship this weekend at Allen County-Scottsville High School in Scottsville, KY. Adair swept through both team events, going undefeated in Quick Recall to earn their 6th straight Quick Recall Regional Championship, and the Future Problem Solving Team was named Regional Champions for the 3rd year in a row, their fifth title in the past seven years. This year's victories mark a stunning 7th year in a row that Adair County has won a 4th Region Championship. Included in the team's championships were six individuals who placed in the Top 5 in their respective categories to earn the right to advance to Governor's Cup State Finals for Written Assessment competition:
Quick Recall members this weekend were Luke Maupin, Ryan Montgomery, Jake Leibeck, and Eddie Franklin, Jr. The team defeated eventual 3rd place finisher Glasgow High School in the first round and continued through the bracket defeating Cumberland County High School and completing the best two out three sweep against Barren County High School in the final two matches. The team's average margin of victory was over 20 points per match, including a 30-point victory in the Finals of the tournament.The Future Problem Solving team at Region, composed of all Sophomores and Freshmen, were Emmalee Baker, Alison Feese, Roslin Wilson, and Kyle Castaneda. Attending the Regional event were team members Luke Maupin, Ryan Montgomery, Jake Leibeck, Aaron Bradshaw, McKenzie Martin, Eddie Franklin, Jr., Kyle Mann, Audra Turner, Ashley Neat, Nathaniel Johnson, Heather Jackson, Roslin Wilson, Emmalee Baker, Alison Feese, Abby Walker, Kyle Castaneda, Matt Rogers, and Sydney Bright.
