Robert L. Miller, Taylor Co., KY (1927-2011) Campbellsville, Taylor Co., and South Central Kentucky mark the passing of a giant figure with services for the long time Mayor of Campbellsville, KY, who led the city for 33 years during one of the most progressive eras in the history of a city recognized nationally for its achievements. He was a member of the First Campbellsville United Methodist Church and of the Gideons International, a retired employee of Tennessee Gas Transmission Company, and U. S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a trustee emeritus of Lindsey Wilson College. Campbellsville Mayor Tony Young has order flags lowered to half-staff in his honor through the day of his funeral Robert L. Miller, Sr. of Campbellsville, KY died at 8:10pmET, Friday, February 11, 2011 in Campbellsville, KY. The funeral service will be at 11amET/10amCT, Tuesday, February 15, 2011, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY by Rev. Ron Young and Honorable Barry Bertram. Burial will be in the Brookside Cemetery, W. Main ST, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be from 5pm-8pmET/4pm-7pmCT, at the funeral home. Pallbearers: Thomas Barnes, Jr., Andrew Brooks, Daniel Brooks, Dale Decker, Robert L. Miller III, and David Rogers. Honorary pallbearers: Campbellsville Taylor County Rescue, Campbellsville Fire Department, Taylor County Fire Department, Campbellsville Police Department, and Kentucky State Police. Robert L. Miller, Taylor Co., KY (1927-2011) Robert L. Miller, Sr. of Campbellsville, son of the late Martin K. Miller and Birdie Mae Baumgardner Miller, was born in Taylor Co., KY, Sunday, July 24, 1927. He died at 8:10pmET, Friday, February 11, 2011 in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY at the age of 83 years, 6 months, and 18 days. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a retired employee of Tennessee Gas Transmission Company. He was a veteran of World War II having served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He was a former Mayor of Campbellsville, KY, a position he held for 33 years. He united in marriage to Bernice Chapman of Columbia, KY, on August 31, 1947. She preceded him in death December 1, 2000. He united in marriage to Jeania Judd May 17, 2002.
