Murphy, age 76, of the Kettle Community in Cumberland Co., KY, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2011 at the University of Louisville Medical Center in Louisville, KY. Funeral Services for J. C. Murphy will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 12pm noon CT in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home, 601 N. Main ST, Burkesville, KY, with burial in the Murley Cemetery. Visitation for J.C. Murphy will be held on Tuesday February 8, 2011 after 2pmCT, at the Norris- New Funeral Home until the time of service on Wednesday. J.C. Murphy, Cumberland Co., KY (1935-2011) He was born in Cumberland Co., KY, on Tuesday, January 15, 1935 the son of Virgil and Mary Bell Fluty Murphy. He died Sunday, February 6, 2011, in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY, at the age of 76 years and 22 days. He was a operator technician for the Kentucky Department of Transportation and a member of Red Banks United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Riddle Murphy, brothers and sisters, Della Fletcher, Fowler Murphy, Cleve Murphy, and Paul Murphy.
