Dorothy Murray, Adair Co., KY (1922-2011)

She was a member of a large, respected family with deep roots in Green and Adair Counties, KY. She was the widow of the late George Henry Murray, and a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church

Dorothy Murray, 88, of Columbia, died Sunday, February 6, 2011 at 2pmCT. at the home of a daughter in Louisville, KY.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 12pm noon CT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST (MAP), with Rev. Joseph Payne officiating. Burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 4125 Johnson School RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 10am, Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at the funeral home.



Casket Bearers: Fred Waggoner, Ralph Waggoner, Melvin Mills, Calvin Mills, Shaun White, LeeBryant.

She was born Saturday, September 16, 1922 in Green Co., KY. She was the daughter of the late Elwood and Nina Jones Anderson. She died Sunday, February 6, 2011, in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY, at the age of 88 years, 4 months, and 21 days.

She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Henry Murray on August 27, 1981.Survivors include the following;
  • Two daughters: Flora Roberts and Sarah French both of Louisville, KY.

  • One son: Houston Murray of Columbia, KY

  • Seven grandchildren

  • Five great-grandchildren

  • and several other relatives and friends
