Groundhog Day is today, February 2, 2011

"Groundhog Day is a holiday celebrated on February 2 in the United States and Canada. According to folklore, if it is cloudy when a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day, it will leave the burrow, signifying that winter will soon end. If it is sunny, the groundhog will supposedly see its shadow and retreat back into its burrow, and winter will continue for six more weeks," according to the Wikipedia entry, Groundhog Day.

If you want to watch the celebrated Punxsatawney Phil live, from Punxsatawney, PA MAP, click to xxxx.

If you were planning to go, it may be a little late to go to the event from our 7-County Area. Gobbler's Knob in Punxsatawney, PA is almost 550 miles, almost 10 hours, from Gobbler's Knob, Joe R. Barbee RD, (MAP), Columbia, KY, in Adair County, KY, where much more reliable Groundhog weather prognosticators dwell.
