He was a member of Freedom Baptist Church and a retired cutting room employee with Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, KY

Charles W. Melton, 77, Campbellsville, KY, died at 7:05amET, Monday, January 31, 2011, in Campbellsville.

The funeral service will be at 11amET/10amCT, Wednesday, February 2, 2011 atthe Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. Larry Frisby, Rev. A. Landon Hadley and Bro. Ray Tankersley. Burial will be in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 3878 Greensburg RD, Campbellsville, KY.



Charles W. Melton, Taylor Co., KY (1933-2011)

Charles W. Melton was the son of the late W. D. "Bill" Melton and Hattie Colvin Melton. He was born in Taylor Co., KY, Tuesday, October 31, 1933. He died Monday, January 31, 2011 in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY, at the age of 77 years, 3 months, and 0 days.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church.He was a retired cutting room employee with Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville, KY.

He united in marriage to Hazel Lois Clark June 14, 1952.

Besides his wife, Hazel Lois Melton, he is survived by the following:
  • Two sons and one daughter: Chuck Melton and wife, Sharon and Maria Pike and husband, Mark of Campbellsville, KY; and Mike Melton and wife, Catherine of Lexington, KY

  • Five grandchildren: SPC 5 Ronald Melton of Iraq, Steven Melton and Andrea Pike of Campbellsville, KY; and Sarah Rexroat and Jacob Melton of Lexington, KY

  • Three great-grandchildren: Kyla Melton, Koben Melton and Danielle Morris

  • Two sisters: Gladys Colvin and Mary Aileen Colvin of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Rafferty Carroll.The Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, in charge of arrangements.
