Alumnae of 1st LWC intercollegiate basketball team return

By Duane Bonifer, Public Relations Director
News from Lindsey Wilson College

Four alumnae of Lindsey Wilson College's first intercollegiate basketball team reunited Saturday afternoon on the college's A.P. White Campus. The alumnae enjoyed a luncheon with LWC Director of Alumni Relations Randy Burns, and then attended the LWC-Pikeville (KY) College basketball games in Biggers Sports Center.

LWC sponsored a women's basketball team through at least the 1920s, but it is unclear whether the team competed on the intercollegiate level.

In attendance were Denise Glass Fudge of Edmonton, KY, who now lives in Columbia; Shannon C. Moore of Horse Cave, Ky., who now lives in Madisonville, KY; Dwayna McCombs of Brownsville, KY, who now lives in Nashville, TN; and Adair County native Sandra Burbridge of Columbia.
