Obituary: Buck Murphy, 71, of Casey Co., KY

He was a former Casey County jailer, a retired truck driver, merchant, and member of Hilltop Church of Christ.

"Buck" Murphy, 71 died Friday, January 28, 2011 at Somerwood Nursing Home in Somerset, KY.

Funeral service is 1pmET/12pm noon CT, Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY, by Bro. Casey Davis. Burial will be in Murphy Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 6pm-9pmET/6pm-8pmCT, at the funeral home.



"Buck Murphy, Casey Co., KY (1939-2011)

"Buck" Murphy was born Sunday, April 23, 1939. He was the son of the late Wesley Thomas and Carmon Earcel Mason Murphy. He died Friday, January 28 2011, in Somerset, Pulaski Co. KY at the age of 71 years, 9 months, and 5 days.

He was a retired truck driver, former jailer, merchant and member of the Hilltop Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Georgianna Hatfield Murphy of Liberty, KY, and the following
  • Three daughters: Sherree Bryant of Liberty, KY; Pamela Phillips of Florida, and Merle Bryant of Liberty, KY

  • Seven grandchildren

  • Eleven great-grandchildren

  • A brother: Leslie Murphy of Liberty, KY

  • And three sisters: Dorothy Watson of Indiana , Mary Ann Russell of Liberty, KY; and Ina Faye Eads of Indiana.
McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY in charge of arrangements.
