Obituary: Emma Jean Garrett Phipps, 61, Taylor Co., KY

She was a member of a large, respected Taylor Co., KY, family and of the Campbellsville Baptist Temple

Emma Jean Garrett Phipps, 61, of Campbellsville, KY, died at 9:30 P.M., Tuesday, January 25, 2011 in Campbellsville.

The funeral service will be at 2pmET/1pmCT, Friday, January 28, 2011 atthe Campbellsville Baptist Temple, 1300 Hodgenville RD, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. B. C. Gillispie. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, West Main ST (MAP), Campbellsville, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmET/4pmCT, Thursday, January 27, 2011, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home and after 10amET/9amCT, at the Campbellsville Baptist Temple.



Emma Jean Garrett Phipps, Taylor Co., KY (1949-2011)

Emma Jean Garrett Phipps was the daughter of the late Roy Thomas Garrett and Cora Simpson Garrett. She was born in Marion Co., KY,, Friday, June 10, 1949. She died in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY, at the age of 61 years, 7 months, and 15 days.

She professed faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Baptist Temple.

She united in marriage to Kenneth Ray Phipps January 14, 1995.

Besides her husband, Kenneth Ray Phipps, she is survived by the following:
  • Four sons and daughters-in-law: Daniel Rickey and Barbara Fisher of Lebanon, KY; Michael Thomas and Tammy Fisher and Tonie F. and Tracy Fisher of Campbellsville, KY; and Christopher D. and Angela Fisher of Loretto, KY

  • Two adopted daughters: Kynzi Alexis Fisher and Kierra Whitley Robertson Phipps

  • Nineteen grandchildren

  • Two great-grandchildren

  • Three brothers and two sisters: Chester Garrett and wife, Geraldine, Donnie Garrett, Frances Fisher and husband, Earnest and Randal Garrett and wife, Debbie of Lebanon, KY; and Peggy Lawson and husband, Willard, of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy Gay Fisher, in infancy; a grandson, Joseph Ryan Fisher and two sisters and one brother: Agnes Lawson, Lula Pemberton and Raymond Thomas Garrett.

The Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY, in charge of arrangements.
