Count Cardinal can Count on Nine More to Count the birds

Nine more names have been added to the list of persons who have committed to Count the Birds during the Great Backyard Bird Count, February 18, 19, 20, and 21, 2011, bringing the total number to 63 Committed Counters.

Jan Royse wrote, "Please add my name and that of my mom, Dimple Howell, to the list of people who will count the birds in February."

Rodney Thompson, Dawn Coomer, Melody Boward, Monica Thomas, and Robert Osbourn all wrote to be Counted as Counters. And Barbara Armitage, on the way to replenish the supply of Adair County Garden Club suet balls at the Adair County Public Library was told by Library Director Leeann Jessie and Saundra Winn that they can be counted on to count.

The list is growing

Won't you add your name(s)? County Judge Executive Ann Melton did. Mayor Mark Harris did. Tourism Board Executive Director Sue Stivers did. And, so far, 57 other people have. If you'd like to learn more about feeding and identifying the birds attend one of the Adair County Garden Club's Birding 101 classes. Three classes are being offered this year for your convenience. Birding 101 classes will be held at the Adair County Extension Office, 409 Fairground Street (MAP), Columbia, KY:
  • Saturday January 29, 2011, at 10amCT
  • Saturday February 5, 2011, 10amCT
  • Friday February 11, 2011, at 6:30pmCT
