Obituary: Wallace Levon Hadley, 76, Adair Co., KY

He was a member of a large, respected South Adair Co., KY family. He was a member of Melson Ridge Community Baptist Church, had served as Credit Manager for Chevron for the State of KY and had been the owner and operator of Hadley Oil Co. in Mayfield, KY

Wallace Levon Hadley, age 76 years of the Cundiff Community, of Adair Co., KY, passed away Friday, January 21, 2011 at 8:45pmCT, at his home after an illness.

Mr. Hadley had chosen cremation. A memorial service will be held at a later date.



Wallace Levon Hadley, Adair Co., KY (1934-2011)

He was born on Monday, December 10, 1934. He was the son of the late Clurel L. and Helen Gertrude Buster Hadley of Adair Co., KY. He died Friday, January 21, 2011, at his home in Cundiff, Adair Co., KY, at the age of 76 years, 1 month, and 11 days.

He is survived by Adrian Doris Sullivan Hadley, to whom he was married for 45 years and the following:
  • Three daughters: Lou Ann Peery of Haymarket, VI; Lisa Reyna of Bardstown, KY; Dori Ellen Sturgill of Hickory, KY

  • Two brothers: Ernest E. Hadley, of Cundiff, KY;and Delno Hadley of Louisville, KY

  • Two sisters: Faye Willan of Louisville, KY andMargaret Bickett of Macon, GA

  • Six grandchildren

  • One great granddaughter

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
He was a member of Melson Ridge Community Baptist Church. He had served as Credit Manager for Chevron for the State of KY and had been the owner and operator of Hadley Oil Co. in Mayfield, KY.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, in charge of funeral arrangements.
