The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement, at 3:12amCT, Wednesday, January 19, 2011, for a region which includes Adair, Casey, Cumberland, Green, Metcalfe, Russell, and Taylor Counties of Kentucky in the CM primary service area for Thursday and Thursday night:
...Accumulating snowfall is expected thursday and thursday night... An upper level disturbance will move through the region thursday bringing wintry weather to Central Kentucky. A mix of light rain and snow will be possible south of the Western Kentucky and Bluegrass Parkways during the day Thursday. The best chance for a transition to all rain will be across far South Central kentucky. Cold air pushing into the area will change the precipitation over to all snow by late Thursday afternoon. Snow should taper off quickly Thursday night. Total snowfall accumulations look to be one to three inches with this system.Follow all the weather news with links from this site to National Weather Service and local Mesonet stations, updated every 15 minutes.
