Hardly biased at all Chicago fan; Epicurean restaurant reviewer

Last night, Saturday, January 15, 2011, Wichita, Sheila, and I, Big Al Owens, traveled to Smashville (Nashville,TN) to see the 2010 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks take on the Nashville Predators.

The game: Exciting, but luck with Preds in Shoot-out

It was a tremendous game, with the Blackhawks taking a 1-0 lead after the 1st period. In the 2nd period the Blackhawks added another goal to take a 2-0 lead, then in the 3rd period I witnessed the Predators come alive, first they scored to make it 2-1, then they scored again to tie the game at 2, which is the way it stayed at the end of regulation. during the 5 minute over-time there was no scoring, so now we were headed to a shoot-out. The 1st Preds shooter was able to get a goal past Corey Crawford for Nashville to take a 3-2 lead, which sadly was the way the game ended with the Nashville Predators winning the game!

Met each and every Blackhawk team member

We arrived in Nashville early and after the Blackhawks finished their morning skate, we were able to meet each and every member of the team. Every Blackhawk player was very cordial and even took time to sign autographs for the fans while some took pictures also. My son Wichita got to get his hoodie signed by Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, Marian Hossa, Big John Scott, and many other Chicago players. We were able to grab a cup of coffee with the Blackhawks team doctor Mike Terry at Panera's, and share in a few moments over his career with Chicago.Dinner at Piranha's; big food touch of Pittsburg in it

We dined at Piranha's which is located at 113 2nd Avenue North in Nashville. Piranha's has the very best food in Nashville. They have a world famous sandwich which has the fries, meat and cole-slaw right on the sandwich. Piranha's is also a Pittsburgh Steeler fan base for the black and gold faithful.

Though definitely not worth, got to meet Golden Jet Bobby Hull #9

After the game I had the distinct pleasure of meeting the legendary Golden Jet, Mr. Bobby Hull. #9 is a member of the NHL Hall of Fame. Bobby also was a member of the 1961 Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup Champions. Mr. Hull was very gracious and took a photo with me with his Stanley Cup ring, and then signed his ticket to the game for me. It was such an honor to meet a hockey legend. I was definitely not worthy...

Final stop on way out: local watering hole

On the way out of Nashville, we stopped at a local watering hole where we were able to meet some old friends, and made some new ones while quenching our thirst. The watering hole was filled with patrons of all ages, and a good time was had by all with live entertainment jamming out tunes that all of us liked.

Thank you Nashville, for being such wonderful hosts... -Big Al
