News from Campbellsville University Sports Information

Campbellsville University football student-athletes Calvin Bini and Gerwan Brewer have been named All-America Honorable Mentions, the Victory Sports Network announced Friday. The Victory Sports Network NAIA Football All-American Team is voted on by the NAIA football coaches and the Victory Sports Network broadcast team.

Bini of Radcliff, KY, who was named an American Football Coaches Association NAIA All-American, was selected as an honorable mention defensive back after leading the Tigers pass defense in 2010 in addition to serving as a punt returner.

On defense, Bini recorded 47 tackles, two interceptions and nine pass break ups. He also secured Campbellsville's homecoming victory over Faulkner University by blocking a potential game-winning field goal with 18 seconds left. On punt returns, Bini became the program's leading career returner with 55 career punt returns in two seasons. He tied the record against Pikeville in early October, the same game he returned a kick 58 yards for his second kick return touchdown.

Brewer of Louisville, KY, was named the Mid-South Conference Offensive Freshman of the Year in November after leading CU in all-purpose yards. He led the MSC in kick returns with a 30.2 yards per kickoff average during the season and was fifth in the conference averaging 132.8 all-purpose yards per game. The Tiger running back scored six touchdowns during the season in nine games played. For the complete Victory Sports Network All-America Teams, click to PDF: NAIA Football All-Americans
