Columbia Police, KY Fire Marshals investigating mobile home fire

Foul play suspected. One taken into custody. Home engulfed by fire when CFD arrives on scene

The Columbia Fire Department responded to a residential mobile home fire on Thursday afternoon, January 13, 2011, at around 3:50pmCT, to 39 Dusk Lane off of KY 55 North.

Upon arrival discovered a mobile home owned by Eloise Jefferies to be engulfed in fire.

There were 17 firemen on the scene for around one hour. Foul play was suspected and one person was placed in custody. The fire is being investigated by Columbia City Police and KY State Fire Marshals Office.

One person was taken into custody and Columbia Police Department and the Kentucky Fire Marshal's office is investigating a fire Thursday afternoon, January 13, 2011 which destroyed this mobile home. Above, State Fire Marshal Charles Sparks, Columbia, KY, back to camera, was in the initial stages of the investigation as Columbia Firemen were dousing the remaining flames. On the left, back in the kitchen, is Steve Phillips, and, on right, Justin Bailey, with hose.

Columbia Firefighters at 39 Dusk Lane

Flames had already engulfed the mobile residenceat 39 Dusk Lane, when Columbia Firemen arrived on the scene Thursday afternoon. The mobile home was destroyed, and one person was taken into custoday. An investigation is underway by Columbia Police and the Kentucky Fire Marshal's office. Above, from right Justin Bailey mans the hose, assisted by Jordan Dean on the steps, Bradley Caldwell, and Jeff Hadley, the most recent member of the department, whose generic jacket will soon be emblazoned with "Hadley."
