Adair County Regional Bird Seed Mix is here! Click on headline for story plus photo By Barbara Armitage News from the Adair County Garden Club The Adair County Garden Club and Day and Day Feed and Pet have joined forces to offer our community a premium Wild Bird Seed Mix blended especially for Adair County birds. In the past couple of years Bird watching and feeding in our community has grown by leaps and bounds. Last February hundreds of local birding enthusiasts braved freezing temperatures to participate in the 2010 Great Backyard Bird Count. In four days we counted more than 35,000 birds from 85 different species. These devoted "citizen scientists" provided valuable information that will help scientists understand the birds and how they live. Members of the Adair County Garden Club were inspired by these "citizen scientists". The information gathered in our community on the types of species and their numbers later became part of the formula used to develop the ACGC's Adair County Wild Bird Seed Mix. The Adair County Wild Bird Seed Mix has been specially blended to attract the song birds in our community. There are no fillers in this mix - only the highest quality seed available. Adair County Wild Bird Seed Mix is sold exclusively at Day and Day Feed and Pet.For more information on participating in the 2011 Great Backyard Bird Count or the upcoming Birding 101 classes contact Barbara Armitage at (270) 250-2979. -From the Farm, Tucker's Station, Barbara Armitage.
