Fires on Thursday in The Millerfields, on Royal Oaks RD

Firemen battle flu fire at Wesley Goodin property; grass fire on Darrell McGaha place during eight hour span.

The Adair County Fire Dept responded to two separate fires, both in Northeast Adair Co., KY, on Thursday, January 6, 2011.

The first was at 10:35amCT, to a flu fire at 875 Wesley Goodin RD (MAP) in the Millerfield Community, approximately 15 miles from the fire station. The Property is owned by Wesley Goodin. The fire was contained within the flu with no damage to the home with 11 firemen on the scene for around an hour.

The second was at 5:56pmCT, to a grass fire, approximately 4 miles from Columbia, KY off Liberty Road at 375 Royal Oaks Road, (MAP), Columbia, KY, to property owned by Darrell McGaha about 1/2 acre of land burned, there were 10 firemen on the scene for 30 minutes. -Donald Hare
