Majority of native Adair Countians, since 1986 now Amish? "Jim" comments on the low number of natives anymore; or conversely, on the high percentage of people technically "From Off," on the day they enter the world: Ed, I went back and took a closer look at the 1986-1999 births (the most current abstracts to which I have access) and was somewhat amazed what by what I found.A note: Adair County has not had major local obstetrics services since Adair Memorial Hospital closed over a half-century ago. "Jim," and I are taking the technical view of the situation in starting to acknowledging that Adair County is becoming indeed, a Nation of From Offs, with no comment on whether that is good or bad.
