Majority of native Adair Countians, since 1986 now Amish?

"Jim" comments on the low number of natives anymore; or conversely, on the high percentage of people technically "From Off," on the day they enter the world:
Ed, I went back and took a closer look at the 1986-1999 births (the most current abstracts to which I have access) and was somewhat amazed what by what I found.

Of the 216 births recorded in Adair for that time period, 130 occurred in 1986 alone. (That drops the average for the remaining 13 years to 6.62/year.)

From 1987-1990 inclusive there were 22 births.

Of the remaining 64 births (1991-1999 inclusive), nearly all were to Mennonite or Amish parents. (Sorry, I can't recall which sect(s) reside in Adair County.)

It would certainly be interesting to see the stats/names for 2000-2010.

-JIM
A note: Adair County has not had major local obstetrics services since Adair Memorial Hospital closed over a half-century ago. "Jim," and I are taking the technical view of the situation in starting to acknowledging that Adair County is becoming indeed, a Nation of From Offs, with no comment on whether that is good or bad. It's just that it would be nice, were the priorities on health care as much a priority, if we considered some form of of baby delivery in Adair County, somewhere on the continuum between high tech and high touch, as Rowan County, KY offers.
