By Patty Jones, Principal
Col. Wm. Casey Elementary School

Just wanted to point out that a highly successful volunteer program is currently underway for assisting students of both low-income and working families with quality afterschool care and mentoring.

The Camp Casey Afterschool Program at Col. Wm. Casey is fully staffed by volunteers from the Lindsey Wilson College Bonner Leadership Program. This program is offered at Col. Wm. Casey from 3pmd-5pmCT, and offers four quarterly sessions for the year.

Currently program coordinator, Dana Harmon, and CWC teacher, Debbie Bradshaw, have crafted an outstanding grant proposal in efforts to expand the program.

This is just one of many ways that the schools and community are working together to promote student success.

I agree that it will take the efforts of parents, schools and the community working together in support of our students to make a difference. -Patty Jones
