Obituary: Norma Dee Sparks McCormick, 71, Russellville, KY

She was a native of Adair Co., KY, born a member of a highly regarded merchant family of Gradyville, KY. She is warmly remembered by her classmates of Adair Co. High School '58 and by Adair Countians who remember her years at Houchens in Columbia. She was a member of the New Vision Community Church in Russellville, KY and was retired from Houchens Industries.

Norma Dee "Butch" McCormick, 71, of Russellville, KY, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at the Hospice Center of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green.

The funeral service will be Saturday, January 1, 2011 at 10:30amCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY (MAP), with Bro. Brad Rogers and Bro. William Davenport officiating. Burial in Sparks Cemetery, 4850 Weed-Sparksville RD, Columbia, KY (MAP). Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Friday, December 31, 2010, at the funeral home.



Norma Dee "Butch" Sparks McCormick, Adair Co., KY native (1939-2010)

She was a daughter of the late John Wess and Elva Hunter Sparks, born in Adair Co., KY, Sunday, July 9, 1939. She died Tuesday, December 28, 2010, in Bowling Green, Warren Co., KY, at the age of 71 years, 5 months, and 19 days.

She was retired from Houchens Industries and was member of New Vision Community Church in Russellville, KY.

Survivors include the following:
  • Her husband: Bill McCormick of Russellville, KY

  • Three sisters: Jenny Wonderling of LaCrosse, WI; Faye Campbell of Olin, IL; Irene Love of Bowling Green, KY

  • Several nieces, nephews and many friends
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the New Vision Community Church or Sparks Cemetery Fund. These may be made at the funeral home.
