Johnietta Jessie corroborates B.J. Fudge history account She remembers the whole Gibson family and sawmill employees rebuilding the trail to construct Gibson Road to get folks down to Westfork. Carolyn Jean Gibson amazed Johnnietta's dad with her bulldozing skills Commentary re article 41431: BJ Fudge Gibson family built Gibson Road By Johnietta Jessie B.J. Fudge is right about Gibson Road. I was raised in Breeding and my father tended tobacco for Albert (Bud) Gibson for several years. There was a road already there, but it was very steep and very crooked. I can remember as a child traveling the road because my grandfather lived on down Westfork before you get to the Robbie Lacy (who was also my great-aunt) farm. Bud and his children Freddy and Carolyn Jean along with other family and employees rebuilt the existing road making improvements. My dad was amazed because Carolyn Jean ran an earth mover while working on the road. She also drove a tractor and trailer when they took the tobacco to the market.
