Obituary: James (Jimmy) Curry, 76, formerly of Green Co., KY

He was a member of the Galilee Independent Baptist Church and was retired from Crucible Steel, Elizabethtown, KY. Among his relatives, he leaves many locally in Metcalfe and Green Counties.

James "Jimmy" Curry, age 76 of Rineyville, formally of Green Co. passed away Tuesday at the Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, KY.

Funeral services for James "Jimmy" Curry will be conducted 11amET, Friday, December 24, 2010 at the Manakee Funeral Home, 2098 Leitchfield RD,Elizabethtown, KY. Burial will follow in the Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens, 3817 Leitchfield RD, Elizabethown, KY. Visitation will be Thursday 5 until 8 p.m. and Friday, December 24, 2010, 9am-11amET, at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.



He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Galilee Independent Baptist Church. He retired from Crucible Steel, Elizabethtown, KY.

He was preceded in death by his parents Everette and Deli Matney Curry and two sons: Marty Curry and David Curry.

He is survived by his wife Mary Curry, of Rineyville, KY, and the following:
  • Two sons: James Edward Curry of Owenton, KY; and Timothy Wayne Curry of Rineyville, KY

  • One daughter: Lorie Curry of Rineyville, KY

  • Four brothers: Harlan and Howard Curry of Greensburg, KY; and Jody and Gilbert Curry of Edmonton, KY

  • One sister: Jean Keltner of Greensburg, KY

  • Two grandchildren
