(MAP to BIGGERS) By Chris Wells, Sports Information Director News from Lindsey Wilson College, Columbia, KY Chase Cox led a balanced effort with 17 points on five 3-pointers to lead the Lindsey Wilson College men's basketball team past East-West University, of Chicago, IL, 97-63 on Sunday afternoon, December 19, at Biggers Sports Center. Lindsey Wilson is now 2-0 against the Phantoms on the season after winning 72-57 in Chicago on Nov. 27. The Blue Raiders now have 10 wins on the season at 10-3, while East-West fell to 4-17. Junior Charles Baker added 13 points and senior Brandon Clemons scored 12 to back up the freshman Cox who hit 5-of-7 attempts from behind the arc. Dante Dangerfield and Derrick Reaves each scored 11 points to lead the Phantoms. The Blue Raiders opened the game on a 15-1 run that didn't see the Phantoms score a field goal until Renaul Manning's bucket at the 14:38 mark of the first half. East-West chipped the lead down to eight points after back-to-back baskets by Reaves, but Lindsey Wilson quickly responded to lead by as many as 19 points in the first half and 34 in the second half. The Phantoms never threatened to bring the game back down to a single-digit advantage the rest of the way. While the Phantoms shot a respectable 41.8 percent from the field, Lindsey Wilson was still able to shoot them out of the gym at a 66.7 percent clip, including a 38.9 percent showing on threes. Both teams shot a lot of free throws with Lindsey Wilson leading the way making 22-of-34 attempts for 64.7 percent and East-West hitting 13-of-22 for 59.1 percent. The Blue Raiders won the rebounding battle 36-23 without many rebounds available with the gaudy shooting percentage. Lindsey Wilson also came away with 16 steals after forcing the Phantoms into 25 turnovers.
